Itinerary
Day 1 - Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Zagora
Departure from Marrakech after breakfast and drive through the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Visit Aït Ben Haddou (UNESCO), one of the most impressive kasbahs in southern Morocco and a famous filming location. Continue the journey toward Zagora, crossing spectacular desert landscapes and reaching the Draa Valley. Arrival in Zagora, known as the “Gateway to the Desert”, and overnight stay with dinner.
Day 2 - Zagora → Al Nif → Rissani → Erfoud → Merzouga
After breakfast, travel along desert roads and tracks near one of the largest palm groves in Africa, famous for producing high-quality dates. Continue deeper into the desert, with a chance to see wild camels on the way. Stop in Al Nif, then continue to Rissani, considered the historical successor of the ancient city of Sijilmasa. Arrival in Erfoud, where you will switch to a 4×4 vehicle to reach your accommodation in the desert of Merzouga. Dinner and overnight stay in the desert.
Day 3 - Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Route of the Kasbahs → Ouarzazate
Early morning is the perfect time to enjoy sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, depart toward the impressive Todra Gorges, a spectacular canyon with vertical walls rising over 300 meters. Free time for lunch, then continue along the famous Route of the Kasbahs, passing red adobe fortresses and green oases. Stop near Kelaa M’Gouna, known for its roses and local farming traditions, then continue to Ouarzazate. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 - Ouarzazate → Kasbah Taourirt → Marrakech
After breakfast, visit Kasbah Taourirt, once the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech. Then begin the return journey to Marrakech, crossing the Atlas Mountains again via Tizi n’Tichka Pass, with scenic views of Berber villages and valleys. Free time for lunch on the way, and arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon. Overnight in Marrakech.
